Brains, Heart, Courage: Reviewing the Pillars of Compassionate, Evidence-Based Hospice Care

Description

High-quality hospice care requires the integration of compassionate, person-centered care with current evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and regulatory standards. We will explore the three essential pillars of exceptional hospice care: Brains (clinical excellence through evidence-based practice), Heart (compassionate, patient- and family-centered care), and Courage (ethical leadership, advocacy, and continuous quality improvement). Participants will review current best practices and national guidelines related to symptom management, communication, interdisciplinary care planning, and quality measures, while examining practical strategies to improve patient outcomes, caregiver support, and organizational performance. Through this framework, hospice administrators and healthcare professionals will gain actionable insights to strengthen the delivery of compassionate, evidence-based hospice care that honors the goals, values, and dignity of patients and families at the end of life.

Target Audience
