Description 

The home health operations landscape continues to evolve in the post-pandemic world.  Rising costs, shifting payers, and evolving value-based payer models and technologies present unique challenges to the industry.  This session will explore the results of the industry study conducted by Strategic Healthcare Programs (SHP) and FORVIS focused on identifying how agencies are succeeding in the current industry environment and what benchmarks represent that success.  Attendees will be provided with benchmarks and excerpts from the study.

M. Aaron Little, CPA, Managing Director, FORVIS, LLP, Springfield, MO

A leading national home care and hospice consultant, Aaron is a CPA with over 25 years of experience with FORVIS, LLP.  He routinely performs general financial and operational consulting services for home care and hospice organizations, including operations and compliance assessments, benchmarking, and Medicare cost report preparation.  He also oversees the operations of FORVIS’s revenue cycle services, which manages the revenue cycle operations for more than 100 home care, hospice, and senior living organizations.

 

Angela Huff, RN, Managing Consultant, FORVIS, LLP, Springfield, MO

Angela is a managing consultant and team leader on the FORVIS home care and hospice team.  With over 30 years of experience as a registered nurse, she has spent the last 18 years in executive leadership in home health, hospice operations, and software development in the post-acute space.  As a consultant, she helps organizations optimize operational and financial outcomes by performing operations assessments and conducting compliance-focused reviews of home health and hospice documentation, including audits and appeals related to the OIG and program integrity contractors.


Continuing Education

Kansas Home Care & Hospice Association is approved as a provider of CNE by the Kansas State Board of Nursing. This course offering is approved for 2.2 contact hours applicable for APRN, RN, or LPN relicensure.  Kansas State Board of Nursing provider number:  LT0287-0314. 


Other disciplines will need to apply independently – a certificate of attendance for 1.8 CE hours will be provided.
