Overview

This webinar will review the Targeted Probe & Educate audit process. Learn how to respond to these record requests as well as the subsequent audit findings. The timeliness for responses and the recoupment process will be defined. This session will describe likely risks for hospices and how to monitor those risks, including analyzing PEPPER reports. Lastly, attendees will receive a checklist of required documentation and a checklist of things to review in the chart before submitting.

This webinar will cover:

1.     Define Targeted Probe & Educate (TPE)

2.     Identify elements that affect the selection of an agency for TPE

3.     Describe the documentation requirements for passing TPE


About the Presenter:  Melinda Gaboury, is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Healthcare Provider Solutions, Inc., an organization out of Nashville, TN that provides financial, reimbursement, clinical and operation services to the home health and hospice industries.  With more than 25 years of experience in Medicare Home Health, she is a presenter at both the state and national levels, and is interviewed frequently for national home health publications.  Ms. Gaboury is also the author of "Home Health Pocket Guide to OASIS C2: A Reference Guide for Field Staff."  Ms. Gaboury has no conflict of interest in regard to this program.

 

Continuing Education: The Ohio Council for Home Care & Hospice is an approved provider of continuing education by the Ohio Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. (OBN-001-91)(OH-157, 4/1/2019) 

RNs and LPNs must participate in the entire program in order for contact hours to be awarded. To apply for nursing contact hours, please return a completed evaluation form and a $10 processing fee for each individual requesting hours.


Confirmation: A confirmation will be sent via email to verify site registration, as will the handouts, Internet link and 800 number for entering the webinar, and instructions for participation.  If your Contact Person does not receive the email confirmation two (2) business days prior to the webinar, please contact our office to verify your status.


Registration Fee per site/phone connection: Registration fees are for one (1) phone connection.  SHARING OF REGISTRATION OR FEES WITH OTHER AGENCIES AND/OR INDIVIDUALS IS PROHIBITED.  Contact hours may be earned for listening to the audio recording up to 6 months following the live webinar.  If you desire to purchase both the live webinar and the audio recording, pay the registration fee and an additional $30.
